Void Admirals: Lost Colonies vs Loyalist/Imperials

The Ambassador flexed his shoulder as the Medbot hovered away, "I know its 100%, but it still aches, it's weird..." The conversation ended as a pressure wave pushed them both a step (or hover) sideways. A bemused looking sharklike creature was now in the Imperial visiting tank, and a small pedestal with what looked like a cat bed had appeared near the Medbot. By the ancient, ornate (and recently repaired) Ambassadorial sofa, a small table, of a design completely out of character with every other piece of furniture in the room, appeared, followed by several small bowls landing on it, one containing pink and randomly wriggling foodstuffs, another a selection of nuts and bolts and a blue and yellow spray can with a red top. Beside these, teetering on the edge, a metal wine cooler and what appeared to be a vintage bottle of Champagne materialised. The Medbot reached out a manipulator field for a few nuts and bolts. "Snacks, must be a show night!" The Ambassador shr...

Xenos Rampant: Kindred vs Weird War German Werewoles vs Cool Blue Meanies

Been a while since we dusted these off... As usual with Xenos Rampant, the game was high paced and I did not take enough photos, sorry! Decided to take my Kindred , as I haven't used them yet . What are Kindred? Think late WW1 era British infantry, but actually Halflings, with laser rifles, lewis guns, and bare feet, with putees! These are actially my MkII Kindred, as the original Kindred went to someone else alongwith my Grymm and other sci-fi stuff, but, I have no idea who. Kindred : 3 x Light Infantry with Armour Piercing and 2 with Heavy Weapons 1 x Support with Armour Piercing and Heavy Weapons (Vickers HMG team) 1 x Armoured vehicle (MkIV tank) with armour piercing and slow Mark brought his werewolf backed Weird War WW2 Germans , 2 x Greater Xenos with Razor Sharp Blades 1 x Elite Infantry (HQ) 1 x Heavy Infantry 1 x Recon Infantry with sniper upgrade. Dave brought something Blue from Warmachine (henceforth refered to as Cool Blue Meanies) . 4 x lesser Xenos with razor sh...

Scrapjacks - trial game at Graham's

Graham kindly invited me roud for another game. This time we were trialing the pre-release version of ' Scrapjack s' by Stalker 7. This is a cooperative (or even solo) Sci-Fifsalvage game; where your team of four has to explore and recover items from desolate areas of space. Assume broken spaceships, abandoned stations, but are they actually abandoned? As Graham and I were trialing there were no official floorplans or models, yet. So, an ad-hoc selection of miniatures from Graham's amazing collection (more retro spacesuits/diving suits than hi-tech gear here) and his great portable terrain system. Our team of four enter the area. Each team is made up of different characters, and I'm sure as the rules are finalised, more will become apparent, but ours had a hacker, a fighter, a medic and a fixer types, giving a useful spread of skills across three different stat types. Aim is to sweep each room for goodies and salvage, complete missions for rewards, and survive. That las...

Pray for the prey, predators are predating

More Skræling/commanche warriors for either Saga or Xenos Rampant - these are for me! The whole batch     Eight warriors Go lads! Charge! Attack! Top view Archers Twang Not wearing much! Hunting or hunted? Top view Skraelings from Footsore Miniatures. Twelve archers, eight warriors, another hero and five totems. That gives me a three point Skraelings warband at the moment, or three Xenos Rampant primative infantry units and a general. Warriors Shield patterns are based around surviving Commanche shields so they blend in with my other batch. Good looking guys! Hope no-one minds me mixing cultures, byut the Commanche have an awful lot more research than the Thule people/Skraelings! Advance! Not heaily armoured, but hit and run specialists Levy archers, less well equiped sorts. Lots of animation in them. Top view Fun figures to paint War chief Bossy bossy! Already looming over  the rest of his tribe! Totems - five different sorts, each one has a diffe...
