I'll let you lot work out the translation

Wooden Spoon for Chariots of Fire Mortem Et Gloriam 2025

 Another competition, another spoon!

Wooden Spoons for Campaign 2025

This year's themes at Campaign were 'Wars of The Roses', 'Horse Lords', and 'Eastern' Can you spot which is which?

Wooden Spoon for MeG at Attack, Devizes this weekend.

It's a chariot theme, can you tell? Hope I don't win it, again! Hope to see some of you there. I'll be using 10mm Saitic Undead in the MeG chariot themed competition.

Wooden Spoons for MeG at Campaign 2024

It's that time of year again! Three themes this year in the MeG team events are Britannia - 55BCE to 900CE, 'Don't Tell Them Your Name Pike' (any army with two or more TuGs/units of Pikes), and Open 28mm (which has turned into Italian Wars) Britannia Conculcabitor Don't Tell Them Your Name, Pike! Open 28mm 'Das Wud Teuer!'

EMERGENCY REPLACEMENT - Wooden Spoon for Rollcall this weekend.

Due to the organiser being ill, an emergancy soon was needed for this weekend. The 28mm MeG pool is open themed, but nearly all the armies were Roman or Italian Wars in our pool, the spoon idea popped into my headbased on a comment by a friend:- "I see three of us didn't get the Italian Wars memo!" It only took an hour and a half tonight, but I actually prefer this one!    And now a wooden spoon for Rollcall this weekend!  It's an Easter weekend competition, so here's Bugs... (With apologese to Tex Avery)

Wooden spoon for MeG Silk Road tornement

Last weekend's games up in Stockport, the theme was called the theme was 'Silk Road', my spell checker kept calling it 'sick toad'.

Wooden Spoon for Derventio VI

As is traditional! Derby is a bit moist at the moment, Boards and Swords is on a slight rise, so was unaffected by recent storms.

Wooden spoon for TOIL III

Ran TOIL III recently (Time Of Inadequate Lighting - an Early Medieval/Dark Aged MeG themed event), last year was Hagar, so this year it's his long suffering wife Helga

Wooden spoons for Campaign 2022 Mortem et Gloriam

Well, you knew this was coming... Three themes this year for the MeG team competition: 1) It's too early for me. Chariot period Teddy bear had to be added! 2) Henry Tudor did good. Henry and his frineds/enemies. Spoon 3: All the Queens (female cinc selection from across the ancient and medieval lists, not included in the two other themes.) Yes, it's a pun. All three together

Wooden Spoon for Footsloggers MeG event

An infantry only MeG event looms, so here is the Wooden Spoon for it! Quote Quick Edit More... You may refer to me as: Lord Speedy of Leighton.

Wooden spoon for Ice & Fire MeG competition

Spoon for Ice and Fire 2024 now done., two years on and the competition theme is reborn. Non European lists a Gogo  This weekend is another MeG comp, themed Ice and Fire and non-European lists. Struggled with inspiration for this one, until I saw a fire and Ice ying-yang that was morphing shapes into dragon forms, so I modified the idea into a pair of ice and fire dragons locked in combat. Sure there is a Dragonlance scene of Reds vs Blues... One way up, one dragon looks like it is winning. Rotate it and the other dragon wins! The cycle goes ever on... It was about 2.5hrs painting

Warfare Wooden Spoon 2021

After a two year lay off, here is this year's Warfare Wooden Spoon, the theme is chariot armies again, so I thought long and hard* and came up with this: (Drat, need to borrow a rubber and erase the pencil writing.) *About 18 seconds

Wooden Spoon for Derventio IV

Fourth Derventio . This is an ancients themed Mortem et Gloriam competition at Boards and Swords in Derby next weekend. As is traditional, a wooden spoon. Thought these two fitted the theme!

Wooden Spoons for ArMeGeddon

Wow, nearly two years since I last painted a wooden spoon of any kind. The traditional 'prize' for last place in a sporting event, and something of a collectors item (I've won back three over the years)! These two are for ArMeGeddon, which due to the present nature of British Covid restrictions had to be split over two sites, firstly Battlefield Hobbies are hosting the Midlands section in Daventry. Then the 'SSL' or Souther Super League is based somewhere on the South Coast that will remain secret for security reasons (Hi Ray)! With a big split, we needed two spoons. What was the most famous split?  This one! (What, you were expecting Taylor & Burton?)
