Kindred, WW1 Weird War - replacing a lost force for Xenos Rampant.

Many years ago, I owned the original Kindred prototypes, but at somepoint I lost/traded/forgot. The only thing I could find was their tank, well, that's getting used! Recently, you may have seen my Sci-Fi crew, and looking through the catalogue of CP Models I found they were holding the Kindred. An order later and my Kindred are back! Love them.   Sixteen figures, two anti-tank rocketeers with panzerschrecks, three Lewis gunners, an officer and ten soldiers, enough for three undersized squads, will upgrade squad size soon. Top view, 15mm bases, figures are close on 20mm. Yes, I kept the bases muddy and added wire, to go for the WW1 aesthetic. Bare footed, but with putties... Packs packed and ready, most likey for Xenos Ramapant soon. Even the officer has a Lee Enfield. Might see how they do vs the club soon. Light or elite infantry? Something they did not have before was a HMG, that's now sorted. How many rounds a minute! Support weapons are cool. Dakkadakkadakka Th...

10mm Pendraken WW1 British for Nik

The Germans need opposition . Nik being too busy with real life asked me to paint his WW1 forces. The British, Old Contemptables, ready for action. Mostly painted while I was running a competition at Boards and Swords hobbies this weekend! First unit with machine gun The thin khaki line It really is impressive how well British uniform blends in Hopefully I've done them justice There is a lot less British infantry than German units But then the mad minute would even that out Plus they have friends, only two per battalion Still enough to make the enemy think Two cavalry units with Machine guns in support Player's view British gun line BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Something atmospheric about this one Commanders Top view Yes, there is a red cap in there The British batch

10mm Pendraken WW1 Germans for Nik

Nik asked me to paint his WW1 Germans and British , so with a spare five minutes in my schedule, here they are. An infantry unit with machine gun stand Yes, I did do cuffs, collars, facings, tail piping, trouser seams and helmet numbers! Top view But where one goes, they do not go alone. All six units of infantry Not bad since I only started them last Monday Top view Because they would not fit in the light box with their infantry, all six machine gun attachements Do not want to be down range of that Uhlans with their attached machine guns Fun fact I did not know, German cavalry used tubular steel lances in WW1! The line Player's view German gun line Gunners being busy Top view Spot the deliberate mistake? Nik and I realised the gun shields are on backwards (Nik blamed a 'Red Wine incident'), I tried to take them apart but they were stuck fast! Commanders (I know it's terribly unhistoric, but the temptation to do a couple of uncovered Pucklehaubs was too much) Back of...

WW1 ships

A very good friend sent me some WW1 ships  he did not need, and all of which appear to have rather chequered histories.  I had a spare hour and painted them up. No idea where I will use  them, but a nice starting set of research, it's not really a fair match up at the moment!
