Sabresquadron Korean War 1950 in 10mm Pendraken

Finally got my 10mm 1950 Korean War troops on table! I painted the ROK troops in 2021 as a Lockdown project https://madlemmey.blogspot.com/2021/02/south-korean-infantry-company-1950.html The North Koreans were finished in 2019. https://madlemmey.blogspot.com/2019/11/pendraken-10mm-korean-war.html But they had never been used in anger! So, Nick and William came over to Leighton Buzzard, and I set up a Sabresquadron game set in the early phase of the Korean War. The North Koreans had to break through, while trying to take four on table objectives and three exit points. These were worth 100 points. The South Koreans with much worse morale and training, had to withdraw (they scored five victory points for each platoon that got off table, up to 40 points) and had less victory points to spread across five of the objectives of their choice (a further 60 points). North Korean come on from the left. Pink dots are the objectives. South Koreans infantry platoons have to be between the h...

1870 Battle of Coulmiers in 10mm - Big Bloody Battles

Nick very kindly agreed to run a C19th game down, and I purposely did not ask what it was as I wanted to see where we ended up.  Imagine my surprise, neigh delight, when Nick handed us the play sheet for Big Bloody Battles game of the Battle of Coulmiers , one of the few French victories in the Franco-Prussian War, albeit in the Republican phase. He had a well thought out table, and boxes of beautifully painted 10mm Pendraken FPW forces that he hadn't used. Could Dave and I repeat the feat? In seven turns, quite an ask  The scenario is well written, with great research, clearly mapped and has clear aims for the French attack and Bavarian defence.  Yes, French attack. The Republican phase of the Franco-Prussian war actually sees some French attacks as tactics reverted away from defending with superior firepower to desperate or desultory attempts to force the allied German forces to concede ground or territory or even just get armies out of sieges. Gone are the glory...

Star Wars Legion - The Bad Batch.

The last unit of Legion troops as my daughter isn't playing any more, but we both enjoyed 'The Bad Batch' series, and always agreed this was the last set Imi would have. From left to right, Crosshair, Echo, Hunter, Wrecker, Omega and Tech 2/3rd view Off they go Back view, had fun googling those details Sneaky stuff Top view     Some really random reinforcments for both Imi and I. My Xmas pressies from my girls. AT-ST from Imi It only just fitted my light box! Back view with all the vulnerable gubbins Random point! It also comes with Chewie as the commander, so you can use it with Rebels, which is I'm sure what my daughter Imi will knick it for! "No, I've got an idea..." And from Rach, the Daiyamo of Mos Espa, Boba Fett Older, wiser, still hits as hard! Book of Boba Fett anyone? The head is interchangable There we go   Ahsoka Tano for Imi, she's a great fan of the (not quite a jed...
