Nick came over to Leighton Buzzard for a C19th game. I was wondering what to do, and thought are there any Prussian vs Bavarian fights? I did a bit of research, and came across The Battle of Kissingen 10th July 1866 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Kissingen I defaulted to Black Powder, using my Volley and Bayonet basing, but using the Wyre Forest Gamers scenario, orbat, timings and map (they always make good games), modified to Black Powder. I usually use my figures in regimental scale, but this is a divisional scale, and so each stand equates to a battalion today. Victory is simple, if Prussian leaves the table to the East, it's a major victory. If they can take all the on-table villages, a minor one.  Marjk and I got together for another fun scrap of Soldiers of Napoleon. This time I took my 10mm 1813-15 Prussians, while Mark dug out his 15mm French. A stream crossed the battlefield. A large wood sat left, a small copse right, with a hill on the right. My cavalry sat on the hill, menacing. Two hussars a unit of dragoons ans an uhlan. In the centre a brigade of infantry (2 musketeers,  a fusilier, and a landwher, with extra artillery and full caissons) To either side of the stream the rught hand brigade, with one artillery battery with a landwher cavalry unit. Mark's elite Hussars cavalry swings left, his infantry masses in the centre, and two dragoons with artillery hold the right. Mark's first card was 'Senior Commander Injured', leaving me down a command card for the whole game, and no access to rerolls. Plus this gives Mark a bunch of Victory Points. That made life somewhat difficult as Mark would always have the final say each round after playing alternate cards...

Okay, I gave in! Bought and started a division of 1815 Prussians in 10mm. Limbers and caissons I know the caissons teams had twice as many horses, but they are just a marker in the games we play... And they add flavour to the battlefield Fun sculpts to paint too Yes, I did drop the steps on one caissonand I could not find them, and yes I did replace it with a shard of my wife's favourite cup that she broke (it was the right size and shape, almost).     2.
