Battle of The Mere of Rushes - Burrows and Badgers rescue mission

Dach the badger looked round as his vision unblurred. The chapel infirmary was whitewashed and the large, high-level glazed windows allowed warm light to pour in. A small stove glowed in one corner, while every surface was covered in gifts, flowers and some obviously hand-made 'Get Well Soon' cards. He lay on a pallet bed, in crisps, clean linen sheets, and his equipment was stacked next to him. His arm ached, and was securely strapped to his side. He could just make out deep scars on it under the light bandages "Oh, look who is awake!" Purred a familiar voice, he looked over to one of the other beds to see his fellow warrior Bowie, preening himself with a mirror. "You took quite a knock, my friend " "Bowie, you weren't even that badly hurt, why are you still in bed!" Dach turned his head to see Lady Door, sitting up in an overlarge wing backed chair, a scroll on her lap. The chair was his sized, so on a Dormouse it almost swallowed her. No w...

Burrows and Badgers - Freebeasts of the Well of Ashes vs Barbaric Pedestrians and an Der Vilk's mob - Capture the Paychest

Tucked into their usual nook round a glowing fire, cups, flagons and goblets perched between platters of food, the Freebeasts were not in their usual jubulant mood. "Look, all I said was the pay chest was hidden in the watchtower, right in the middle of town at Mortsville, I just suggested we could swoop in and get it," Big Ouseux the sparrow adjusted his rackish new eye patch. "Yeah, and two other bands had also found out about it, The Barbaric Pedestrians and Van Der Vilk's mob, both full of heavy hitters," Bowie the cat grinned. "I miss the fierce insanity of Berry Town, our dear departed shrew fighter." Lady Door looked into her drink. The other's shared knowing glances, it was more than his combat prowess the Dormouse missed, the two had been firm friends since they had been liberated from slavery. "I thought we had another otter due to come on board?" Abi the Shrew asked, twisting and dancing her throwing knife blade between her paw...

Burrows & Badgers: Battle at the Tomb (Take and hold)

The fire crackled in the bar, spitting as a few walnut shells flew in. It was a warm summer's evening, so the warband stretched leisurely in front of it on different sized chairs rather than outside with the locals. Various creatures sat round, discussing the day's business, some wore variously bright and colourful uniforms of foreign uniforms matching their Germanic accents, slightly soiled and others very bloody in some cases. "Cheers all, a good day," a grey mouse grinned. The leader of the group, Hannibal, habitually chewed a large liquorice stick. Including him, several of the warband had fresh cuts and bruises, but most looked fresh and unscathed. "Being hired to guard six points in the town, great for funding." "Well, that was a tight one!" Aimee, a small shrew, propped her drink back onto the table. "It's alright for you, Hazel, you spent the day guarding the windmill with no-one bothering you, while some of us have nothing to sho...

Burrows and Badgers: Sneak attack! Freeferrets vs Barbaric Pedestrians

"So," Sir Dereck poked the fire with the poker, putting it to one side and looking at the Freeferrets around the camp, "what was the main rule for dealing with the Barbaric Pedestrians?" Teddy looked at the others, and raised a whiskered eyebrow, "Get in quick?" Harry the Weasel looked up from his flagon, "Hit 'em 'ard?" "Get out quick?" Matilda continued, before taking a drink from her flask. "And..." The old knight waited. "Get the money from the villagers in advance for clearing out the other gang as quickly as possible?" Ron the Weasel finished. Sir Dereck groaned, and looked up at the gang. "The job was simple, force out the Barbaric Pedestrians, and walk away with a good purse of cash!" "I mean, we shadowed them, got in a good position, then we all got the drop on 'alf of 'em as they were patrolling round," Ron looked puzzled (but he always did). "I mean, I got a good sh...
