Mortal Gods: Artemis's blessings.

Polykratos looked at the ruins of the Temple of Artemis. One day he knew his state would be rich enough to restore it. Approaching from the North were an invading force of hoplites. He knew he would have a hard fight. "Want to stop them?" Tychon the archer looked up from the shade of the olive tree he was sitting under. "Think Artemis would like us fighting here?" Leandros grinned, knowing Tychos favour of the goddess of hunters. He and Polykratos were, at best, agnostic, but he was not going to risk her wrath. "Not a good fighting area for our hoplites, this looks like a job for the peltasts and archers." "I'm sure the Hoplites will be busy enough." Polykratos smiled wryly. "We will swing them right. Archers near the wood, slingers and peltasts to take the ruins, go with them Leandros, I'm sure they will appreciate the support." David and I met up on Wednesday for a game of Mortal Gods. I used my standard list, David put out ...

Mortal Gods: Mythic - Heroes of the Argo vs Hordes of Hades

Typhon lay back near the campfire,as the other Thespians picked away at the bones of the freshly roasted rabbit he had hunted earlier. Libations had been made to Artemis, but the rest had definitely been enjoyed by the warband. "Did I ever tell you about the time I fought against the Hydra, along side Jason and the Argonauts?" "I'm calling bull," Leandros laughed at the archer. Polykratos looked at the veteran archer and smiled wryly, "Typhon, we know you are an old fighter, but that's a legend." "Go on, spin your tale Typhon," Leandros chortled. David R and I met up for a game of Mortal Gods:Mythic, table fell like this, and we just went for a stand up fight. Dave's kit isn't all painted yet, so forgive him! Not all Jason's are goblins. The Hordes of Hades. More Skellies than you can shake a femur at, some are archers, a few temple guard, a priest, and A HYDRA! Atalanta, Typhon and my archers start by picking off a unit of ...

Hellenistic Spartan commision - 15mm Hellenistic Greek or Macedonian successors

Following on from seeing the successful Spartan commission , Roger, whom I did the Cathars for , asked me to do a Helleistic Spartan force in 15mm Xyston (that will also double as Ptolemaic and Asiatic or other Alexandrian successor state), and spears from Museum Miniatures Range 'Z'. Pike unit 1 (the guard) and three units of spear armed hoplites plus generals to finish of this commission. The no 1 pikes Simple, but heavy Perfect ranks, unlike 8 & 9! Onwards Players eye view Generals Top view Side on Back view to show the generals Spears 1 It's a big mass I do like the way they rank up Spears 2 - marines? Had to pick the sheilds nicely Off they go Charge! Spears 3 - Spartan spears I REALLY REALLY love this shot! Mean and moody More nudity than... Just so you can see the back and shields Big mass  There are at least 9 units of pikes to do, plus a lot of extras, so I started with the middle units of his army list, pike blocks 4, 5, 6, & 7, ...
