Warfare - (post-)Mortem et Gloriam - Game 4

"Oh no, not again!" The world span, the morning sun in the East bcame the setting sun in the West, and the Medjai grabbed weapons as Pteppic looked from what had been a clear plain to a cultivated settlement near ruins of an ancient village, near trees on the coast, but with the sun setting INTO the sea! (No one noticed the shattered bowl of begonias or the splattered whale). "Where are we now?" Ptraci cluched her stomach as the lamb roast just stayed down. "At a guess, there is a threat to Psamtik's ancient domain, somewhere at it's furthest extent." Arbath Bay looked up from his papyrus newssheet, and folded his glasses. "Phoenecia? Didn't he get out there?" Pteppic enquired. "Don't care who you phone, just get back here to control your troops!" Arbath grinned, "Messenger, get out there and scout what we are up against!". Game 4, 45 points, I am still in the lead, but victory is not certain! The view at lunc...

Warfare - (post-)Mortem et Gloriam - Game 3

"Urgh!" Pteppic groaned The ground shifted, the sun rose and set at the same time, and the stars span across the sky. "I hate that bit too..." "Where are we now?" "Looks like we are on the plains of the Delta, as there is no terrain anywhere!" Arbath Ray shaded his eyes from the rising sun, no shade in the heat of Egyptian sun would make for a hard day's fighting, hopefully they could find shelter later. Lance and I have fought on many occasions now, and often it ends in a complete drubbing for one of us. There are never half-measures, and it is always a great game. He had brought Mycenians and Minoan Greek...

Warfare (post-)Mortem et Gloriam - Biblical action (Game 2)

Down on the delta, as the sun rose across the branches of the Nile, Arbath Bay sat on his steed on a river berm, looking at the approaching army, the threatened Mycenians had vanished and as the heat haze affected the view of the pyramid in the distance. A lone chariot came forwards, delivered a scroll to the waiting Messenger, turned about and trundled back to its lines. Wearily, the messanger rode back, and handed it to Arbath. He opened the scroll, scrunched up his eyes, turned it upside down, frowned, shrugged, and handed it to Pteppic. "Well, that gives us a date range of when we are, it's written in heiroglyphics!" the warrior moaned. Pteppic scanned the scroll, snorted and threw it on the embers of the fire "He claims to be a living god, the greatest general Egypt has ever seen, and demands we leave his lands immediately!" "Who?" Ptraci enquired. "Rameses II, Rameses the Great, Rameses the old..." "Really? How old is he now?...
