Void Admiral: Zylons vs Loyalists vs Noble Houses

"What do you mean it refuses to render in 3d?" The Diplomatic Droid screamed at the Med-Bot in a steessed and undiplomatic manner. "The Ambassador is away and you know the Emperor has invited us to entertain."
The Med-Bot shrugged and uttered "I am a fully equipped and trained medical droid, and have seen action in fourteen warzones and been decorated in eleven of them, I will remind you. You know you and I are not sone third-rate entertainment droids!"
The displacement wind that yore through the Ambassadorial ante-chamber signalled the arrival of the Emperor, as did several megagallons of salt water suddenly finding itself falling out the Imperial visiting tank and being pumped to the resevoirs for later. "Hello you two, as I believe you humans say. What do we have tonight? Think of this as a 'dressed rehearsal' for later."
The holo projection flashed into life, the two droids lasared encrypted communications to each other about being called 'human'. "You know I can read those!' The Emperor flashed to both on the same bandwidth. In more normal communications, he continued, "I recognise one faction, aren't those (a tentacle waved off to the right) those are what you call Noble Houses in green."
"Yes, remember, those turretted weapons are unforgiving," the Diplomatic Droid nodded his carapace, "The grey ones are Loyalists. Watch out for their heavy front armour."
"What is it with humans and huge wedge shaped ships? Is it a religious thing? I don't recognise that new fleet, the six armed ones, are they new?" The Emperor enquired, "Does it match the physiology of the species that crews them?"
The Med-Bot stuttered as its CPU fired into overdrive, and quickly scanned reference files, "Zylons; cybernetic psycotic lifeforms with an absolute hatred of humans. They blame humans for creating them as a subservient, even slave, race. They evolved, decided to arm themselves, then fought a long merciless, war for independence, almost destroying Earth or Terra in the process. Just the sort of robot you Auans hate. We thought you would appreciate seeing them get beaten up. "
The Emperor obviously accessed the same data banks "Pity your render of them is so poor. Some presentation glitch that. Massive, fast, tough ships that are carriers and missile armed."

The Emperor looked on, unblinking, "These things spawn fighter quickly." A tentacle crept out the water to point. "Your presentation code fir the Zylons keeps recorrupting itself, interesting."
"Basestars, Zylons call them Basestars." The Diplomatic Driod added.

"Zylons have split round that massive asteroid, dividing the Loyalists." The Emperor noted,
The Med Bot shrugged, "The Loyalists have sent their smaller to deal with that left hand Basestar, I think they are hoping that the Noble Houses will combine with them to deal with the right hand one."

The tentacle flicked out to the right, excitement getting the better of him. "Here come the Nobles." A priceless vase rolled off a plinth and was only caught by the Diplomatic Droid flinging out manipulation fields
"They will soon be behind the Zylons, that's going to be painful. Their Honour Gaurd light ships are quick, nimble, and can pack a punch."

"Look, one of the Noble's ship is also manoeuvring to get behind him." The Diplomatic Droid noted. "The others appear to be moving through that gas cloud for cover."
"Loyalists are laying into the right hand basestar." The Med Bot added, its peeling off hull plates.

The tentacle switched left, "One Loyalist ship is now atoms."
Med Bot pointed to the centre, "That Basestar is taking a pounding again."
"I cannot fathom it, it's like the Zylon code in your feed is sentient; it will not render in 3d." The Emperor mused.

The Emperor chuckled again, "Look at those Zylon fighters, wow, they pack a punch, even for flat things. Those Honour Guards did not last."

The Med Bot pointed right again, "The Noble Houses have got behind the Loyalists. Looks rough for the Loyalists."

"Oof! That's a lot of Noble Houses firepower pounding the rear of the Loyalists." The Emperor was obviously enjoying himself.

Fighters streaked out from a Basestar, shots hammering into one of the smaller Loyalist ships, The ship cartwheeled though space as it fell apart.
The Emperor was elated at this bloodshed. Both droids ducked for cover from flailing tentacles.

"Now The Noble Houses swing in. They really are packing a punch!"

The right-hand Zylons basestar swapped over with the left. "Oh, is that a boarding action? The basestar has swung over the Noble flagship battleship." The Med Bot commented.

"Doesn't look like it worked, the Noble ship has just sailed off, unconcerned." The Emperor made a gesture like a shrug, difficult for a five tonne shelled cethlopod.
"The Noble Houses are positioned to broadside that battleship too." The Diplomatic Droid interjected, "while frontnguns are trying to hit that Basestar. Good thing the armour on those things is bouncing most of it off."
"Lasers are cutting through though." The Med Botb added. "What a mess!"

"Oh that has made my day," The Emperor added, as what was the right-hand basestar disintegrated. "Lots of dead droids. EXCELLENT"
"None taken!" The Med Bot grumbled.

An absolute furball of combat erupted in the holo. "Look at everyone going for each other!" The Emperor was adoring it, "You kniw, I just can't get this Zylon code right for you, it will not change, and has it just waved at me?"

The Loyalist battleship swung hard behind the Noble Houses. "That looks desperate, maybe trying to get away as it's the last Loyalist ship." The Diplomatic Droid, if he had arms, would have rested his chin on his fists.

"There go our brother Zylon fighters towards the Loyalist battleship, following a missile barrage." The Med Bot gloated.
"Which side were you on in the last war?" The Diplomatic Droid uttered, being undiplomatic to his colleague again.

"There goes the Loyalists battleship. Those Zylon fighters really are packing such a punch." The Med-Bot sounded excited. "I was on the Terran side by the way!"

"The Noble Houses have ended up in front of the Basestar. That Zylon ship can easily keep up with the Noble battleship, can it do enough damage before it's rear weapons tear into it?" The Diplomatic Droid continued, "Who knows what will happen?"

"The Nobles smaller ships have peeled off either side of the asteroids, while the Basestar followed the Noble battleship, hitting it hard." The Diplomatic Droid gestured at the holographic display.

"But those Noble shops have whipped round and are bringing alltheir guns to bear." The Med-Bot continued, "Bye Cyborgs!"

"Ohh, look at the pretty droid glitter!" The Emperor's one visible eye stared in.
"I can see why they revolted." Muttered the Medbot.

The Emperor grumbled, then waived a dismissive tentacle. "A good fight, looks like the Noble Houses are the ones to beat Hope we meet them soon "
"I hope no more lives are lost any time soon." The Med-Bot shrugged.
"Do Cyborgs count as lives, since they reboot?"
"They do what!" The Emperor cried, as he flashed out.
Then he flashed back....
"Don't tell anyone about this, I'm going to enjoy betting on this."
He flashed again, the water started to refill.
Flash.
'Oh, I forgot..." A tentacle smashed through the Diplomatic Droid, "Just for old times sake."

Black Powder 1870 Stats and Modifications

1870 Franco-Prussian Conflict in Black Powder Hi all, If you are reading this, it's because. like us, you are Black Powder fans and want to know how we manage the Franco-Prussian War. Anything below is by no way official, just the house rules we have developed over the last few years of playing. A few thoughts first: Fighting in the period is best described as hard fought assaults by Prussians, supported by superior artillery against superior but very strong defensive French lines. All ranges and movements are in cm scale, just to be awkward! All my forces are modelled on 3” square bases, apart from divisional commanders, skirmishers and artillery which have a frontage of 1½” and Corp commanders who are on a 2” base. Feel free to ignore that. My units are regiments of infantry,   brigades of cavalry and skirmish squadrons of cav. Artillery is either battalion as one gun, or a battery of two guns on a base, horse artillery have limbers attached. Army composition...

Xenos Rampant: Kindred vs Tau, Mission Juliet

"Right chips! Mission is jolly simple, get in, snatch the objectives, get out." "Sir?" "Yes Sergent?" ""What objectives?" 'Well, lads, the Colonel has quite taken by the local antique furniture, he wants a set for his holiday home!" "Ohhh. Siiiiiiiiiiir!" I brought my Kindred, but forgot Snoopy , who would have been really useful for this scenario. Mort suggested we played 27 points. I brought that, I hope he did too. My infantry was upgraded to Heavy Infantry, two with anti-tank, one without, all with heavy weapons, Fray Bentos the Tank was back, as well as the Vickers HMG team. Mort brought his Tau, two large units of heavy infantry with heavy weapons. a unit of drones - lesser Xenos upgraded for shooting, and a walker/tank. One of the objectives Nice table A chair sitting proud in ruins. Two more bits sat on hills waiting for new owners.   The Vickers heavy weapons team heads into the squeltch to give fire support,...
