Blood Bowl: Splattermore Ravens vs Undead

"Welcome all to the Buzzard Dome!"
"This should be a fine match up Jim, The Splattermore Ravens, a realtively new team under Mad Lemmey, taking on the Veteran Shambling Undead Team coached by the amazing Mocaivius."
"These two coaches have been friends and rivals for decades, and even got to a local league final once."
"Be interesting to see where this friendly game goes Jim."
"If Blood Bowl can ever be friendly Bob!"

Chris and I dug out our Blood Bowl teams. I chose my Splattermore Ravens Vampire team. Chris brought along his trusty 3rd edition Undead (now know as a shambling undead team in 'Season 3' of the present rules).
My team 2 thrower vamps, 1 blitzer vamp, one runner vamp, 8 thralls (cheap humans).
Chris had 2 mummies, 2 ghouls, 2 wrights, 2 zombies and a pile of skellies.
Good old fashioned croemwd violence shortens the half by a turn!
Chris elected to kick. I recieved and immediately got Lestat the thrower under the ball. Louis the thrower decided straight away to go for a snack. Lestat, thankfully, behaved himself while Tana the Runner legged it downfield thanks to a Thrall clearing the way for here. The rest of my Thralls dodged back or were pushed back from the heavy hitting Mummies and Wrights.

Despite Chris's Ghouls scrambling to cover the pass, Lestat sends a super accurate pass downfield (after a pass reroll) to Tana, who stepped gracefully into the endzone. 1-0.

End of the drive and after I kicked off to Chris, two thralls were in the injured bin (one self inflicted, A+ out the game because Marius the Blitzer was hungry).

On the kick, ball landed exactly on Mocaiv's skeleton in the line of scrimmage, and the Undead caged up and slowly moved the ball downfield. They tried dodging past Tana, but were they brought down. Marius and the throwers were surrounding the cage, hoping to nibble away at it. A hypnotic gaze causes the ball to scatter.

The Undead wright snatches up the ball and shuffles in. 1-1. The restart sees many blows struck, but no score before the half.

A quick snap on the second-half restart sees the Undead cage forming up.  The Vampires, after a snack or two, move to deal with it, dragging the thralls with them incase they get hungry again!

The Vamps try their favourite trick, instead of cage breaking, hypnotic gaze on the ball carrier, who drops the ball while it drools and dribbles (except it was dead, so both tgese qualities were lacking).

Mocaiv scoops up again and breaks down the far touchline. This move is stopped by the Vamps and they hypnotise again, then scoop up and scamper away back downfield.

But in amongst the general brawling, the Undead catch up with the ball carrier and floor them. This leaves the ball loose and bouncing.

Both teams scramble to reach the ball, all exerting multiple tackle zones on the ball and each other. Picking up will be stupidly difficult.

The Vamps almost clear the area, pushing away  successfully all the interfering undead, but despite picking up, the carrier thrall is downed. The ball is scattered again, amd finally after bouncing off most players on the pitch, a ghoul successful retreaves it.

Only to be swooped on and floored by Lestat, losing the ball again.

An attempted blitz on Lestat sees a mummy and Lestat go down,  and both fail their armour rolls. While Lestat is stunned, he managed to injure Mummsie!

Thrall AB+ attempts to pick up and pass to Tana who was in the open and ready to score.

But fails to dodge away from a Wright. The ball scattersvagain, and the Wright fails to pick up.

The final whistle blows. A hugely satisfying 1-1 draw vs Chris. A fair result and hilarious game.
We both had four injured players, thankfully mine were all Thralls, so no biggy there, and itvwas only a 'friendly' .

"Jim, what a game! Who would have thought Mad Lemmey would hold Mocaivius to 1 all?"
"But with four casualties each, both players would've seen them shooting uo the 'Casualty Cuo' in their league Bob."
"These Vamps nicely combine strength amd skills, impressive."
"But tylheir paunchant for stopping mid way through a drive for a 'quick bite' is a worrying trend!"

Black Powder 1870 Stats and Modifications

1870 Franco-Prussian Conflict in Black Powder Hi all, If you are reading this, it's because. like us, you are Black Powder fans and want to know how we manage the Franco-Prussian War. Anything below is by no way official, just the house rules we have developed over the last few years of playing. A few thoughts first: Fighting in the period is best described as hard fought assaults by Prussians, supported by superior artillery against superior but very strong defensive French lines. All ranges and movements are in cm scale, just to be awkward! All my forces are modelled on 3” square bases, apart from divisional commanders, skirmishers and artillery which have a frontage of 1½” and Corp commanders who are on a 2” base. Feel free to ignore that. My units are regiments of infantry,   brigades of cavalry and skirmish squadrons of cav. Artillery is either battalion as one gun, or a battery of two guns on a base, horse artillery have limbers attached. Army composition...

Xenos Rampant: Kindred vs Tau, Mission Juliet

"Right chips! Mission is jolly simple, get in, snatch the objectives, get out." "Sir?" "Yes Sergent?" ""What objectives?" 'Well, lads, the Colonel has quite taken by the local antique furniture, he wants a set for his holiday home!" "Ohhh. Siiiiiiiiiiir!" I brought my Kindred, but forgot Snoopy , who would have been really useful for this scenario. Mort suggested we played 27 points. I brought that, I hope he did too. My infantry was upgraded to Heavy Infantry, two with anti-tank, one without, all with heavy weapons, Fray Bentos the Tank was back, as well as the Vickers HMG team. Mort brought his Tau, two large units of heavy infantry with heavy weapons. a unit of drones - lesser Xenos upgraded for shooting, and a walker/tank. One of the objectives Nice table A chair sitting proud in ruins. Two more bits sat on hills waiting for new owners.   The Vickers heavy weapons team heads into the squeltch to give fire support,...
