Burrows & Badgers - Escort home!

As they stood round the bed, he heard them...
"Well, out of the two of you, you definitly got the brains!"
"And looking at that shoulder, you've probably got the brawn too now!"
The Knight opened his eyes to see the Fox Force standing round, grinning. His shoulder stung, but at least he could move both his forepaws, so that was a plus. He doubted he would yse his axe with full force from now on. Even the crisp, white, light sheet felt like it was pressing his arm down. At least the sunlight streamed in.
"Did we succeed?" His voice was croaky, hos throatbwas dry, he must have been out for days.
"Well," His sister, The Mage stroked her chin under the mask she habitually wore, "Master Toad had gone a courting..."
"But his attention had wavered, and he decided to stay away away from home," the Warrior added.
"His father, Mr. Toad, must not have liked that, he was paying well for his son's return!" Laughed the Ranger, adjusting some fresh flowers into a vase.

"And our new armoured friend has shown his worth, being surprisingly nimble, leaping over obstacles to rush to 'rescue' him," The Ranger gestured at The Armadillo with No Name, sat on a scrubbed wooden bench, feet up on a box, who nodded

"Straight there, make sure he knew who we were, that we weren't going to hurt him, then guided him home. Easy!" The Armadillo chirped in, chomping on the thin carrot that dangled between his lips, "ppreciate the covering fire." He tipped his hat towards the Ranger.

"Yeah, I had a prime view of some idiot standing in the open, shouting at the Heroes of Kelly, 'I have the Lady's Blessing, you can't touch me!' I mean, that was just inviting two expert crossbow mice to have a go!" The Ranger sniggered, slapping the Knight on his shoulder.
"Ow, that really hurt!"
The Mage laughed at her brother, "Not as much as being hit by a crossbow bolt! Talk about target practice."
"Yeah, thanks for that, left me to guard the others as the Armadillo got Toady out!" The Warrior moaned, with another slap to his shoulder. "But at least I got to test out the mole smith's new prototype armour. Put it like this, I won't be using that again, it kept sparking and stunning us al, it did more damage than good."

"Erm, you could have stayed where you were, but no, you went and tangled with Big Joe and Kelly, two big hitters, are you insane?!?" The Mage looked at the Warrior and shook her masked face. "Good thing the Ranger and I were catching more crossbow bolts for you. How quickly, we took one crossbowmouse bow down."

The Ranger looked at the others, "We were picking off more of the mice though, one was sneaking round, trying to deliver a love note."
The Mage twitched, scratching her nose under her mask, "Life Eater, such a useful spell, knocked it down, but it leaves me really craving cheese, and hazelnuts, and small spaces... "
The Knight laughed, for the first time in what felt line a long time, "You will be afraid of cats next!"

The Knight looked round the gang, "So, we won the fight, what did we get for it?"
SLAP! "Hopefully, knowledge that you can't stand up against crossbows!" The Mage snarled, jokingly.
"Ow!"
"The jewellery workshop netted us thirteen pennies, we got thirty pennies for completing the mission from Mr Toad, very generous he was. The purse is full again." The Warrior shook a large bag that jingled happily. "The Ranger and I finished her pet project, and we have a fully stocked and green farmstead, going hungry is never going to be a worry again."
"I wandered, and heard some rumours, so will be picking our next side quest, time to play to our strengths, well, ours anyway!" The Mage shook her brother a look.
"I went further," The Armadillo added, "I found a Tempke of Light, fate is boosted, lots of experience too, but not as much experience as you two."
"Right brother, sleep..."

Blizkeig Commander IV - Hasty Assault

Mark and Stephen took my British at 1750 points, with effectively the same lists as before, but with two turns of preprogrammed artillery and a turn of smoke to assault my 1100 points of Germans who were in dugouts and gunpits. I chose to defend the four hills near my baseline. I has three HMGs, three mortars, two command teams and six infantry platoons, with two PAK36s teams. PAK36s and mortars on the back hill, two infantry and an HMG on the front. Infantry and Mortars in the left hill as a flank guard British stalled, turn 1 they failed to reach the table, so it took them at least four turns to advance. Artillery had landed on the right-hand hill, and rear hill, but had failed to kill anything, even with two 8 gun batteries of 25lbers . My ambush was sprung out the thicket. British infantry advancing developed an unfortunate habit of getting hit by mortars and HMGs. The British in turn 6 cleared the central hill with armour, but needed to get at least three infantry stand...
