Mortal Gods - Three Sided scrap - finding the treasure.

Typhon woke up, his head was banging, and there would definitely be a new scar on hi sarm...
"Nice to see you can take a knock too!" Leandros looked over at the archer.
Polykratos sat on a nearby boulder, helmet and shield at his feet, sword bloodied, he was smiling at his two fellow fighters. "Nice to see you two sleepy heads. By the way, we won! Spartans and Etruscans all sent packing, treasures secrured!"

Dave, David and I met up for a game of Mortal Gods. Mark was meant to be joining us, but he had to call off. This is only a quick report, as we were haing too much of a laugh! Six objecties were scattered across the field, which you have to find and hold until the end of turn 5. One would go live on a roll of '6', if an action was expended on it. The others then are empty.
Three sides means two corners and an edge. 450 points each. I was nearest, Dave the other corned, David the opposite edge.My standard warband took to the field, with their eyes firmly set on the two nearest objectives. the trophon over the red hill and the Thracian gladiator in the rocks. David was after Grummio in the weeds, and the trophon in the very centre, while Dave went for the two slaves in the rocks.
My archers scampered off quickly towards the red hill, while Leandros headed towards the Thracian. My slingers, in the corner, somehow did not move all game!

Peltasts joined Leandros, who sneaked on to the objective, while Tychon and the archers rushed the hill. Hoplites looked on at the Etruscans, wondering what they could actually do? David's archers were sneaking round the back, targetting my heroes.

While David's 2iC questions Grummio (and comes up empty handed), my peltasts shower David's Spartan version in javelins.

Turn 3: His archers advance, and Leandros finds the treasure! My peltasts catch their own set of javelins thrown back at them by David's boys, and run backwards. They would yo-yo back and forth for the rest of the game, as does Tychon!

So, I had to dig in ang hold for three turns. Leandros was joind by Polykratos, and both did stirling work holding their ground. Polykratos was so determinded not to give ground or step away from the treasure, that he failed 5 charges I spent my time trying to get hoplites over the red hill to gaurd  the ground, while Dave spent his time beating them up! Thankfully, my light hoplies did get clear to guard the treasure while my experienced heavies took the beating. I lost Tycho and my archers to the Etruscan assualt too, but took down a unit of David's hoplites and his peltasts. David and Dave tried to take each other out behind the big rock, with lots of fights going on there. Leandros took a beating from David's CinC, and Dave's Etruscans were dealing the hurt on my heavy hoplites, but it was too little, too late.

Great game, real laugh again and these rules are brilliant.
"Leandros, what did we win?" Tycho groaned from the ground.
"Polykratos?"
"Pride!"
"That doesn't feed troops!"
"Fair enough, but a pile of silver coins will!" Polykratos winked.
