15mm PSC Goths and Huns for Adrian.

Three years ago, Adrian replumbed my house, in return he gave me a few boxes of PSC Goth and Huns to paint.

Last ten Hunnic bases which are flexible, hence the mix of two to a base and three to others; and two generals.
Finishes off the box.

Cantabrian horse

Fluid lump of horse

Running round their opponents soon.

Firepower

Two general stands

Twang!

Now onto Adrian's Samurai

Skirmishskirmishskirmish

Almost a horde. Again in muted colours as lower status troops.

8 bases of Huns for Adrian.  8)  Someone is borrowing this weekend, :D and Adrian can't make it...  :'(

In loose oorder so that his others in skirmish can allow him to be flexible

A tent that got delayed due to low stock...

Got the army finished*!
*Finished - until he gives me something else to paint!

Light horse - Adrian was collecting them that night, so the pva was still wet on the shrubbery.

Most muted of all the cavalry due to being less wealthy.

Fast, deadly at range, not much good in a stand up fight!

The camp, arrived on Monday, finished last night!

Mostlly Beuada

Pork dinner anyone?

Think it's done!

Two tents, does it make a camp?

Barrels, sacks, pots, pigs do!

Heavy cavalry and generals done.
Unit one

Still keeping with the slightly muted pallete

But with the edging to match the foot units

Six bases looking like one horde

Top view, because...

Not quite the charge of the Scots Greys...

Second units

Great many hairy horsemen!

Ride!

Third unit

Not bad for the cost of a replumbed house!

The only winner here are the dung beetles!

Armourerered lancers

I know there is little evidence for Gothic catafracts, but it allows Adrian(ople) to distingush his superior cavalry in his army.

I do think these came out quite well!

These could hurt if they run over your foot ( I once lost a toenail to a horse treading on mine)!

Generals, using up more of the FIB War and Empire Kickstarter Generals special, in the very centre features Arthur as a heavy cavalry general and Attila on the right, escorted by two Hunnic heavy cavalry (Adrian also bought a box of PSC Huns)

Shields picked to stand out

Horde leaders wanted, apply here, no previous experience needed...

The cavalry horde, it only just fitted in the light box!

It's a big batch!

Two units of Gothic archers finished for Adrian(ople).

Back view to show cloths

Tried to mute their colours compared to the warriors as lower status blokes.

However, high contrast hems makes them stand out!  Grin

Twang!

16 bases massed

After a conversation with Adrian, here are a unit of 'Goth' warriors

Each shield is a classic Goth Rock/Industrial/New Wave album cover, bonus points for each one you can name!

Top view to see the black (or very, very dark grey), again as 'flexibles' the two ranks have three to represent loose order or four for close order.

I went a little 'technogoth' on some details.

That is the 'Gothic Pride' flag, (LGBTQ+ goths are a thing you know) because I thought it looked really cool!

Goth general, actually a Forged in Battle general from their War & Empire kickstarted, this is King Krum of the Bulgars

Yes, he is drinking from a skull cup of Emperor Nikephoros I!

Resplendent

32 more bases of Gothic type infantry completed, figures by PSC and shield transfers by LBMTop

As ever, rear rank are in loose formation as the unts are 'flexible', hence less figures per base

Top view, I think we have hit horde propotions!

1st 8 bases

No, thought not!
Unit 3

Unit 4

The first two units I did for Adrian

Think I've got the better end of the deal!

Adrianople anyone?

PSC Goths and Little Big Man shield transfers.
Gothic infantry started.

Extra stand (this was where I ran out of bases)

Quite a horde! There are 5 more foot units to go!

Soldiers of Napoleon - French Imperial Guard vs Austrians - bad day to be a hussar.

Whilst down in Wiltshire for the Devizes comp, Nigel very kindly gifted me his 10mm Imperial Guard division from FOGN (Field of Glory Napoleonics), and although I had rebased the cavalry and generals (including painting some), the guard themselves were not finished. I scrabbled together a 900 Soldiers of Napoleon list (which turns out to be illegal, read the rules Will), and fielded it Vs Mark's undefeated Austrians. My army, including reserves, was twelve units and Mark could basically do that in two brigades! My list : Two brigades of two five Old Guard infantry, with two twelve pounders and full cassions. Guards Heavy cavalry brigade. Five Grenadiers a Chevel. Five Guards Dragoons. Three batteries of 8lber guns. Guards light cavalry brigade. Four Guards lancers, four Guards Chasseurs a Chevel. Three batteries of three 8lber guns. Mark had: An Avent Guard brigade with hussars, artillery, jagers and two infantry units, two dragoons with horse artillery as his cavalry brigade,An in...
