Mortal Gods - Find the loot.

"Spartans, the only thing worse than Spartans," moaned Polykratos, "is Atheneans!" Leandros leaned back against the slope of the hill, while Tychon stood on teh hill top, looking over the ruins towadrds the Spartan force approaching. "Erm, guys, have youi seen these Spartans?" Leandros lifted his head, "Typical Spartans, not wearing anything!" "They'll all get sunburn, bet they don't care about the the Helot's health." Polykratos shrugged, turning his back on the approaching forces with disintrest. "They're nearly all female, Polykratos!" Tychon laughed. That snapped his head round. David and I met up at Leighton Buzzard Wargames Club for another outing of Mortal Gods. This time, he used some different figures that he's been wanting to get on table for a while. they weren't on the normal unit bases, but as soon as a friend's 3-d printer is back up and running, they will be. A learning game of Soldiers of Napoleon for Dave: Austrians vs Guard in 10mm

Dave and I mett up at Leighton  Buzzard Wargames club for a game of Soldiers of Napoleon. Mark was meant to join us, but he had a cold. So we ended upp with my Austrians    being used by Dave, while I used my Guard . all in glorious 10mm Pendraken .    Most of the action happened off camera, so it's a shorty. Deployment was a centre forwards. My two infantry divisions were on the left and right, with a plan to clear out Dave's right hand infantry brigade, while the Guard cavalry on my left was designated to delay Dave's cavalry in the centre and maybe the infantry swinging in fron the left.   Two unit of hussars and two cheveuax legure face down the Guard Dragoons and Grenadiers a Chevel. Quite the challenge.   Especially as his artillery was backing up his cavalry Hussars do what Hussars do, and charge the Guard Dragoons. The result was not pleasant for the hussarss. As Dave's infantry swung in from the left, that unit of infantry out front was a...

A warm-up game vs Mark, then two competition games at TOIL vs Matt and David. Not all four on a weekend, becasue of a drop out on day two. So, these are a condensed report of Arthur, King of the Britons and his quest to avoid the Wooden Spoon. My list. Two units of decent cavalry, a lot of stodge amd a few skirmishers. Yes, I am running two allied generals. Game 1 vs Mark's Vikings A Wednesday warm-up, you were wondering where my last Wednesday report was? Well, here it is! Over a thousand 10/12mm figures on table, Gawain is on the left, Lancelot in the middle with his cavalry in reserve, and Arthur on the right. This is turn two, I was pushing my Arthur's cavalry and light horse right to distract Mark's line, supported by an infantry block .Lancelot advances, while on the left Gwain moves to cover the gap left. Mark and I both ahve 11 units, but mine are nearly all 8s, whereas his while three are way harder, are all sixes. Gawain forms up his line in expectation of Vikin...
