No-body expects the Spanish Inquisition, especially not in 10mm!

22nd September 1970, or is it a drawing room, Jarrow, 1912... "No-body expects the Spanish Inquisition!". "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise... surprise and fear... fear and surprise... Our two weapons are fear and surprise... and ruthless efficiency.... Our three weapons are fear, and surprise, and ruthless efficiency... and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope... Our four... no... Amongst our weapons... Amongst our weaponry... are such elements as fear, surprise... I'll come in again." Cardinals Biggles (Jones), Ximinez (Palin) and Fang (Gilliam). BTW - The Pendraken code is PEN-INQ, brilliant, on so many levels! https://www.pendraken.co.uk/the-spanish-inquisition

Legio Imperialis: Emperor's Pointy Sticks vs White Scars

Lists attached underneath   No one is quite sure why they were fighting. We claim they hadn't returned the fiver they had borrowed. They claim we lost a dessert fork from their regimental tea set, either way, two loyalist legions are at arms with each other! Michael and I agreed 2500 points of Legio Imperialis (which we both agreed after is waaaaay too many points for an evening), set up and had a lot of fun! This time, my legion of The Emperor's Pointy Sticks (pretending to be Ultramarines) was joined by the Warlord titan Frank'n'Furter. Somewhere in the ruins in the middle, the lost dessert fork resides. Back left for me and Michael, are both our air wings, with Michael having a lot of troops ready to be deposited on table by air lift, supported by heavy armour, and on the top right his new biker contingent. I used my usual massed firepower of teh EPS, backed up by land raiders and predators and a horde of dreadnought... Man his armour can shift! He's on teh objec...

Battle of Trenton - 10mm AWI using Live Free or Die

Neil and I  gathered on Wednesday for a 10mm game of Live Free or Die to refight the Battle of Trenton. I was using my Americans on my old Black Powder bases, which is why you will see the appropriate 25mm bases behind my units to show unit size. Neil was using his British bases as Hessians (before anyone gets upset by the redcoats on table). This was a 'what if' scenario with several random factors. Mine were that one brigade had got lost and would need a 6 on a d6 to arrive. Also, I gained a second brigade on turn 5. Neil's Hessians however gained two sets of entrenchments, were alerted to our presence, and were at full strength! Drat!!!  My objectives were to take the road to the left, to cause more casulties than the Hessians, and to capture the enemy HQ. Neil's were simply to stop me. Turn 2 and reserves arrive! This would draw two of Neil's stonger units off. Hurrah! My skirmishers break left to take and secure the left hand road. Four units are t...

Blood Bowl: Splattermore Ravens vs Copperwheat Stealers

"Welcome sports fans!" "And fans of extreme violence!" "Tonight, from Splattermore Castle, the Ravens, a new Vampire team, are taking on the Copperwheat Stealers in an un-friendly moonlit spectacular." "A veteran halfling team, vs a rookie vamp team, should be a good match-up?" David came round for a game, and I got to try out my new Vampire team on his sparkling new Vampire pitch. I elected to receive, and Tana, my Vampire runner, got the ball from a touchback. Sprinting down field and looking to score as soon as posible. However, David's halflings had other plans, and triple teamed her to  floor her. Due to the hard floor, she went straight into the injured box, and didn't regenerate! Sorry Tana. The Stealers scooped up the ball, but the Vampire thrower, Lestat, blitzed in, up-ended a halfling, and seized the ball. Not a single tree man took root all game, they were blitzing everywhere!  The Stealers popped the ball loose with a ja...

Pulp Alley: Wakandan Reacquisition Squad vs Top Gang in two lively scraps.

Deep in the Souk Min Almaerik, the Wakandan Reacquisition Squad had a lead. Somewhere, eminent anthropologist and art historian, Professor Pith-Helmet had information on cultural artifacts, that might be ancient Wakandan items. Some local leads had been scouting out his location, but the squad needed to persuade him to reveal what he knew of their location. On the left, Adazeh Tumbebo, S'yoma Usukla and N'Bube Meraba moved towards their informant, Chanan. They were also keeping a close eye on 'You-Bastard' the camel, known to kick, hard. Princess Ch'lanreah, her faithful bodyguard Bhi Nadduruzi snuck right, looking for the waiter at the Bel Epoch, another known contact, but a fantastic gossip too. Adazeh was successful in getting the information from Chanan, straight away. The Professor was examining local tapestries, which was in range of Princess Ch'lanreah, who abandoned the cafe idea (as she really did not want to have to make small talk with the waiter, h...
