Caution, this hobby might be Hobbit forming!

A reinforcement group, 'won' these at Element Games last November (so a bit quicker than my earlier batches). Four Hobbit militia, another 20 points on the forces, if taken with upgrades! Four Sherriffs added. At 5 points a time, that's another 20 points to the force.  If all else fails, they could join the Shropshire Bedlams ! And this lot were bought on 2005!  Finally got round to painting this lot, I blame Hammy for starting to talk Lord Of The Rings games. 46 figures (plus doubles of Frodo, Merry, Pippin, Pippin and Sam, the three former who I painted many years ago and rebased) and still not met the 500 point minima! Two games of A Pikeman's Lament

WARNING, THIS POST CONTAINS UNPAINTED FIGURES, THOSE OF A NERVOUS DISPOSITION SHOULD LOOK AWAY NOW! Back to Leighton Buzzard last night, and Mort had kindly invited me to join him in a game of Pikeman's Lament . I had a quick rootle around the garage and found the bucket of spare ECW that Mark had gien me at least fifteen years ago, and slapped some paint on five units over the weekend. Well, 3.5 outta 5 ain't bad ! I rolled ' Lion of The North ' a handy two rerolls per combat, perfectly suited to Ensign Whalley and his band. We put our figures out on table, just to see what we've got. Jarkko's house makes a reappearance. More formal deployments: Mort deploys a unit of commanded foot on the hill, his trotters behind, two sleeves of shot and a pike unit centrally, and his dragoons towards the wood. Wupert's (not related) Pikes are shielded by the rough terrain, my vetern shot Baron Barry Bickerdykes Big Bonnetted Boomers (unpainted) towards th...

MeG Test Game - Lambert Simnel vs Henry Tudor

Somewhere in the North Midlands, 1487. The army of Yorkist Pretender Rightful King of England , Lambert Simnel approaches the forces of the Lancastrian Usurper Yorkist Pretender , Henry Tudor VII . I was inited back to Graham's wargames pod to show him and Mark how to play MeG, and after some discussion, they both wanted to try the rules to see whether they could use the rules for the Wars of The Roses. Graham sent me a list of figures he could field. Unfortunately, my armies are early Henry VIII besed in and around 1513 and the Flodden campaign or The Battle of The Spurs in the French campaign, so a quick list dive later, I went for Yorkist Pretender and Early Tudor, the last two lists in 'Kings of The North' pdf . Henry awaits the arrival of Lambert, his guns deployed (they didn't do much else all game). Stanley and his troops (an ally) are deployed front and centre to ensure he joins in. Death also stalks the land.  Graham's cloth is green, but fo...
