Mitanni vs Mycenians MeG 10mm

Mark and I, after a slight postponement , got our chariot period MeG armies on table tonight. My Mitanni vs Mark's Mycenians, all 10mm, all Magister Militum , it's the way forwards... The chariot period in MeG at the moment is a real scissors-paper-stone match up, with shooty skilled chariots (Egyptians/Hittites/Mitanni) vs Solid foot (Mycenians and Early Hopilties) vs Hordes (Nubians/Libyans). Mark's Mycenians technically are the better army, a real stone list vs my paper thin one trick ponies . Mark comes with long spear, shield cover and integral archers, I come with a mounted and shooty chariot force! Well, nearer scissors-paper-stone-lizard-Spock really, there are a couple of other chariot lists that can be deadly... Mark dominated the terrain with a well rolled strategic intercept, so chose to attack on my coastline. He also dragged the terrain into the plains, which was not great for my infantry (as they are all loose foot, which suffer against his chariot, ba...

10mm Hunnic cavalry swarm

Graham asked me to paint up some Huns for his Later Roman campaign. Not sure of the figures, but quite pleased with the effect. As usual he does his own basing, hence the lollipop sticks! I went for quite a toned down natural palette on these, enjoy. Some more added to the horde, more Huns, some Gepids and Alans too. Light horse Catafracts and command Mediumish Alan cavalry That's a fair few cavalry now! It's a fair sized horde. Depending on your ratios! Lighter horse The figures had a nice sense of movement, but felt fragile. Noble cavalry Noble cavalry running away!

Multiple Medieval MeG Maulings at Milton (Keynes)

Damn, one alliteration too far! A last minute game vs Nick, as I had pimped my game with Mark off to Paul (confused, so were we). As I waited for Nick, Mark and Paul fell on each others throats like hungry wolves. They had both arrived with 100 Year War armies, Mark was French (a tasty army that he had some success with at Warfare 2017) and Paul trialing the Early English (so lots of powerbows with no stakes )! Paul and Mark have met previously on several occasions, but it never lasts long. Mark and Paul deploy. My list Nick arrived with his Communal Italian forces, and we set about getting underway. Nick chose to attack, so somewhere on the South coast, Henry VIII readies his defenses, and wonders how the Italians have found a time machine ! Mark and Paul advance, and in the distance, Mark lines up his knights on Paul's English archers.  And his knights thunder into Paul's men at arms. Paul's longbows miss, and the knights tear a hole into the...
