Mortien et Gloriam - Chariots of Fire Biblical competition - a prelude.

Ptepic looked around, each of his eyes slowly focussing back to normality as Ptraci and Youbastard the camel looked on at the view unconcerned. He stood, somewhat shakily and surveyed teh terrain before him, pondering where the gods had brought him now...
"So, what god forsaken kingdom are we dealing with this tim?" He looked over to the black clad Arbath Ray.
"By my estimations, looking at star patterns and weather, teh legendary kingdom of  Der-Bi."

So, Psamtik, Ptepic and the scouts (and more importantly one camel and one queen), ride again. Numbers were somewhat affected by illnesses and other stresses (get well soon all), other events in Belgium the week before and an small event in Leeds. Six of us gathered in the almighty Boards and Swords Hobbies in Derby, where our welcome was warm and our hosts generous and kind.
Our entries:
Nik: Hittite Empire
RJC: Sea Peoples
Phillip Powell: Sumerian
Keith Spedding: Later Sargonid Assyrian
Peter Bettany: Minoan

My list, largely unchanged from previous outing, is my Saitic Egyptian (undead) list.

It's turning into a good list. I had had two warm-up games vs Mark, and knew with such illustrious players onbaord, it was going to be some good fights.
I had even made a wooden spoon...

It was going to be a fun one!

Links to the arious rounds, have fun!
Round 1: vs Phillip Powell & Sumerian
Round 2: vs RJC & Sea Peoples
Round 3: vs Peter Bettany & Minoan
Round 4: vs RJC (again) & Saitic Egyptian (erm...hold on - yeah more on that later)

The armies of the Saitic Kingdoms, skeletons and mummies, erupted from their tombs, on foot and and on chariots, dark ghosts of Greeks, long immolated, formed from the fogs of the Nile. The Medjai and the two Royals and a mathematical camel joined the ranks as they moved off into the shimmer of time.

Blizkeig Commander IV - Hasty Assault

Mark and Stephen took my British at 1750 points, with effectively the same lists as before, but with two turns of preprogrammed artillery and a turn of smoke to assault my 1100 points of Germans who were in dugouts and gunpits. I chose to defend the four hills near my baseline. I has three HMGs, three mortars, two command teams and six infantry platoons, with two PAK36s teams. PAK36s and mortars on the back hill, two infantry and an HMG on the front. Infantry and Mortars in the left hill as a flank guard British stalled, turn 1 they failed to reach the table, so it took them at least four turns to advance. Artillery had landed on the right-hand hill, and rear hill, but had failed to kill anything, even with two 8 gun batteries of 25lbers . My ambush was sprung out the thicket. British infantry advancing developed an unfortunate habit of getting hit by mortars and HMGs. The British in turn 6 cleared the central hill with armour, but needed to get at least three infantry stand...
