10mm Battle of Kissingen - Prussia vs Bavaria using Black Powder

Nick came over to Leighton Buzzard for a C19th game. I was wondering what to do, and thought are there any Prussian vs Bavarian fights? I did a bit of research, and came across The Battle of Kissingen 10th July 1866 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Kissingen I defaulted to Black Powder, using my Volley and Bayonet basing, but using the Wyre Forest Gamers scenario, orbat, timings and map (they always make good games), modified to Black Powder. I usually use my figures in regimental scale, but this is a divisional scale, and so each stand equates to a battalion today. Victory is simple, if Prussian leaves the table to the East, it's a major victory. If they can take all the on-table villages, a minor one. If the Bavarian have no Prussian to the East of the river, a Major win. https://www.wfgamers.org.uk/war-of-1866-mbue/battle-of-kissingen My take on the table. East is up. I left my bridges at home, but the right hand brigdes (small road to the...

Mahdist Revolt in 10mm, A Black Powder playtest

David very kindly agreed to come round and playtest the Black Powder Sudan ideas. Table set, Anglo-Egyptians have to make it to the oasis. David took the allied forces, I used my newly painted Mahdists. David deployed the Anglo-Egyptians. Left-to-Right: Egyptian Cavalry (not the best) and Egyptian Artillery to the left. British in Khaki, Egyptian garrison forces (not great morale), Regular Egyptians (better), Sudanese Infantry (not great shots, decent fighters) and Red Coated British Infantry. David makes a quick advance down table with his left hand brigade. David's right hand brigade failed to activate, apart from his artillery. Two Mahdist brigades of units appear. I randomised where they were arriving, and this was a roll of 1 and 2. My two left-hand units try to advance, but the central one is disrupted from David's artillery fire as he formed out into line, while his cavalry pulls back, uncertain of what to do. My right hand brigade slowly advances behind. My left-hand un...

Pray for the prey, predators are predating

More Skræling/commanche warriors for either Saga or Xenos Rampant - these are for me! The whole batch     Eight warriors Go lads! Charge! Attack! Top view Archers Twang Not wearing much! Hunting or hunted? Top view Skraelings from Footsore Miniatures. Twelve archers, eight warriors, another hero and five totems. That gives me a three point Skraelings warband at the moment, or three Xenos Rampant primative infantry units and a general. Warriors Shield patterns are based around surviving Commanche shields so they blend in with my other batch. Good looking guys! Hope no-one minds me mixing cultures, byut the Commanche have an awful lot more research than the Thule people/Skraelings! Advance! Not heaily armoured, but hit and run specialists Levy archers, less well equiped sorts. Lots of animation in them. Top view Fun figures to paint War chief Bossy bossy! Already looming over  the rest of his tribe! Totems - five different sorts, each one has a diffe...
