Pulp Alley - Truck Troubles - Wakandan Reaquisition Squad vs Top Gang

Wednesday night, and as I came in from work, Mort had set up the game already with an interesting scenario. We both had to find and escort the survivor off table. A truck lies amid the ruins, surrounded by hints and plot points. That caused the ruins, or maybe the ruins were caused by the truck?

Princess Ch'lanreah, her faithful bodyguard Bhi Nadduruzi, Adazeh Tumbebo, S'yoma Usukla and N'Bube Meraba and all were up for another fight.Eminent anthropologist and art historian, Professor Pith-Helmet had joined the Wakandans again, following a hot lead on more vibranium relics that needed returning to the Kingdom. They were up against the might of Clarkson, Hammons, May and Schmidt and Top Dog, aided by The Shooty Stig.

Quickly, the Hamster reached the radio by the ruins. Typically for the Top Gang, he decided to solve the problem by shooting it to pieces! Shooty Stig moves left, while Sabine moves to investigate a barrel.  Adazeh Tumbebo's shield can be seen as he tries (and fails) to investigate the bright barrel by the truck. Maybe the glowing should have given something away?

So instead, he moved off to deal with the rapidly approaching Top Dog, but was slobbered to the ground instead! An abandoned safe was no match for N'Bube Meraba's Vibranium spear, revealing a plot point.  Princess Ch'lanreah did check another stange box, to discover the missing survivor prone on the ground beside it, so gently lifts him to his feet, with one hand. Unfortunately, Shooty Stig piled in. Meanwhile, Bhi Nadduruzi lifted the lid on the bright barrel, and KABOOM !

My gang is flung everywhere by the concussive force of the blast as the strange substance reacts with the air.

It must have damaged my character's balance, because apart from Princess Ch'lanreah, my league spent the rest of the game falling over and trying to get back up again. Thank goodness for the protection of Vibranium!

'Hamster' Hammond tries to solve another plot point by blowing it to pieces, but it was a red herring (card allowed me to move the ploy point and reset it)! Adazeh Tumbebo failed to open up the real item, and it blew him over, again.

Clarkson and Shooty Stig try to seize the survivor, but  Princess Ch'lanreah, Bhi Nadduruzi and S'yoma Usukla enter into a long, protracted, brawl to try and keep hold of the survivor.

Joined by Top dog, and Adazeh Tumbebo. It was now less of a brawl more of a rolling maul. No one was getting the upper hand. The Wakandans did however bring down Clarkson, and remove him from the proceedings. Stig, however, was a tough cookie and despite being wounded many times, would not go down, or out!

Adazeh Tumbebo, having decided to step away from the action, to be taken down by Top Dog.   Oh the irony! Everyone else, apart from The Professor May, who still refuses to run, had piled into the ruck in the middle

Bhi Nadduruzi was taken down, again, she was wounded, but kept getting back up again.

Turn 7 ended with the game over. My forces were battered, repeatedly downed, and I definitely think they were worse for wear after the explosion, but somehow, and I have no idea how, they retained control of teh survivor and actually won the encounter. They only held two minor plot points and the main one, but a win is a win, even though it honestly did not feel like it. Top Gang defdintely had the run of the fights and try as I might, I could not bring teh Shooty Stig down, who was blocking my evacuation of the Survivor.

"Hello Pyrrhus, this feels like one of your victories!"

  1. It was a great game. We did miss some bits in the rules and I'm going to re-think the skills Top League have. I want them to fit more and chance to try out some skills. I'm also working on a French Foreign Legion for the next game.
