Blood Bowl league match 2: Beastie Boys vs Wheezy Tossers

"Jim, a fine and sunny day here,as the chaotic Beastie Boys face the mighty Wheezy Tossers, an ogre team of note, on their third game of the season, have managed to hire the Mighty Zug for a game to make up for their dead Ogre. Should be a good, blood soaked game."

"Three-thousand chaotic fans of all shapes and sizes, some literally, and and seven-thousand ogre fans fill the stadium, Bob."

"Most of those, Jim, are Gnoblars, so only take up a small space."

"Listen to those cheering fans, but those Chaos voices almost drown out the ogre fans squeals, the chants become indistinguishable and neither side will benefit from that lovely extra reroll.!"

"The kick is up, and comes down. The Beasties front line easily takes down Gnoblars, unfortunately, not all the ogres are taken down as easily, only two of the big guys are down."

"Ohhh, Goldie did not get a chance to pick the ball up, Bob."

"And where did those ogres learn to throw like that, a brilliant pick-up pass allows a gnoblar to land directly on the ball."

"He scampers off to score!"

"What an amazing play, turn 1 and the ogres are up by one."

"On the restart, a touchback gives the ball straight to the mutant Kingley."

"Nice supporting run by Cornelius, good yardage for the Beasties."

"And despite being hit by a barrage accurate flying of gnoblar, forcing Kingsley to drop the ball, he gets up and Cornelius retrieves the ball and goes in to score."

"1-1 Jim, the Beasties must be breathing a sigh of relief"

"The ogres luck in the first half was incredible, everything they tried succeeded. Think Mad Lemmey will be having a quiet word with the chaos gods during the half-time break."

"The second half starts with the ogres receiving on a quick snap, and despite the Beasties flooring a great many players, a particularly brave gnoblar takes the ball downfield. Despite the Beasties best efforts to floor him, his sidestepping skills allows him to scuttle into the endzone to score the ogres second TD!"

"Not many turns remain, and the Beasties and ogres all pile into each other. Eustace the chaos warrior is frequently is pounded down to the ground, but thankfully his armour holds. Two ogres are knocked out by now, Jim."

"Not to forget the five hurt gnoblars, one whom was dead. Admittedly it was caused by being thrown into Goldie and being impaled on her horns, which caused her a whiplash that will take her out for the next game. Bob, the chaos boys have formed a loose cage around the ogres,  proceeding picking them off one-by-one."

"Jim, it was now a simple matter of Gabriel running in for an equalising score."

"By the end of the game, no ogre or gnoblar remained standing!"

"Impressive.! The Beastie Boys played well to claw a two-all draw out of this, only two casualties against them, with five for."

"Ogres have played two, one win and two draws."

"The season is definitely hotting up."

Soldiers of Napoleon - Imperial Guard vs Austrians.

Mark and I met up for a game at Leighton Buzzard Wargames Club. My Imperial Guard vs his Austrians, but he had taken an earlier list (1806), whereas mine was back to 1811. This time saw the first fielding of my new Young Guard. My plan was to adance the guard through the two villages, one brigade had deployed forwards in the centre to accomplish this; then swing in from the left with the Gauard Heay Cavalry brigade. Unfortunately, Mark had other ideas! He had deployed with his cavalry brigade screening forwards. Then it all really went his way. Soldiers of Napoleon has three things you can do on each card, an amount of units that can move, a rally state and special events. Sometimes, the cards fall absolutely how you want them to, sometimes, they don't. Turn one and Mark had been dealt two sets of 'At the quick' special event cards, allowing a march and then a manouver (or vice versa) for three units. Exactly the amount of cavalry units in his brigade! Combined with a ...
