15mm Samurai army for a friend - four Ashugaru spear units and a unit of tepo.

"Everyone should paint Samurai army once!"

Well, this will be my third. Still paying off the debt of replumbing our house, these are for my friend Adrian bought a pile of Two Dragon and Dixon Miniatures Samurai second hand last year off a mutual friend.

The biggest batch is done, four units of Ashugaru spearmen, on threes and fours to a base to represent flaxibility between loose and close in each unit. Each unit is colourcoded by belt colour, and I also found enough Ashugaru with Tepo to do another four bases of those too.

It's a LOT of figures!

First two units. There is one Samurai figure in each command stand because it looks cool!

Red and pale blue

These actually look good!

Other two units, Green and Yellow

The two stripped banner is in case the owner needs to class one unit as allied

Steady lads!

Line or depth?

Ashugaru with tepu and a log! There is also a samurai in this unit, just because...

Aim...

And this was in the box!

So I painted it

Third unit done.
Ashugaru archers, these appear to have a few minifigs added to them..

Ready - draw

I have finally started them.

Starting with Ashugaru with Tepo, as they were the first thing in the rather stuffed box. Twelve bases of in two units. Painted as Clan Sakai to allow them to be used in both Senguko and Renaissance era gaming too.

They look good en masse

Warhammer Old World - Goblins vs Empire, Batlle of The Hilly Hill

"Oi, where's the rest of the army?" Stumpy Jason turned round to the musician Thumpy Jason. "We's only playing 1000 points!" "Oh right. But why are there more Empire 'ooomans than us then?" the Goblin Wolfrider capatin pondered. Mort and I met up for a game of Warhammer Old World. I chose my Goblins, with only 1000 points. This led to me taking a unit of spears, with the army standard, a unit of archers, a spear chucker and some wolf riders. A level 1 mage, my general on a giant squig and Stumpy Jason rounded out my selection. I was tooled up with magic standards and characters, so half my points were tied up in characters. Mort had two units of mounted pistolliers, a spear unit, two detachments , one of handgunners, one of halbardiers, and a small unit of knights. Two characters were embedded in his spears and one pistolliers, and a mage strode forwards with the halbardiers. My wolves and general went left, archers, spears, bolt chucker and...

Mortal Gods - Three Sided scrap - finding the treasure.

Typhon woke up, his head was banging, and there would definitely be a new scar on hi sarm... "Nice to see you can take a knock too!" Leandros looked over at the archer. Polykratos sat on a nearby boulder, helmet and shield at his feet, sword bloodied, he was smiling at his two fellow fighters. "Nice to see you two sleepy heads. By the way, we won! Spartans and Etruscans all sent packing, treasures secrured!" Dave, David and I met up for a game of Mortal Gods. Mark was meant to be joining us, but he had to call off. This is only a quick report, as we were haing too much of a laugh! Six objecties were scattered across the field, which you have to find and hold until the end of turn 5. One would go live on a roll of '6', if an action was expended on it. The others then are empty. Three sides means two corners and an edge. 450 points each. I was nearest, Dave the other corned, David the opposite edge.My standard warband took to the field, with their eyes firmly...
