Second game of Adepetus Titanicus

Last Wednesday I got my second game of Titanicus in against Michael and his loyalist titans. Terrain was scattered, huge robots deployed, and much chaotic hilarity ensued!

Michael had four warhounds, two with grappelling irons and a knight. My forces remained Riff-Raff, my reaver, Magenta and Colombia, my two warhounds, and Brad and Janet, my two knights. Deployment was staggered with Riff to the fore, my knights and Colombia in the centre and Magenta tip-tapping off to the left.

Magenta quickly had her shields stripped away (three hits, three failed saves - followed by more failed saves as all Michael's guns concentrated on her, it would be a theme for both of us for the night). Thankfully, one of Michael's warhounds went down too as Riff brought his guns to bare.

Michael's warhounds were sneaky, pushing to full speed and pulling lumps off Colombia, sending them crashing to the ground with their claws, then his knight tore her down as his warhound pair sprinted after Magenta.

While it looks like there are lots of Titans standing round, in fact we both ended up with a warhound dead on their feet.

One toppled down, while the knights duked it out in the centre and Riff turned to face the warhound trying to flank it. Magenta was pulling back to avoid the nasty claws on those hounds.

With the enemy knight down, my knights piled in to try and help my reaver in combat against the loyalist warhound. Unfortunately, all orders failed and it was a casual stroll into combat for everyone.

My knights and reaver fell, exploding as the final enemy warhound self-immolated across the scortched city scape. The result - all forces died.

Yes, you read that right, not a single unit survived. Truely chaotic and a superb laugh, we were in sticthes. We could not beleive the results, both our dice were awful, which made the game even better, no force was overmatched or too powerful, and the whole game was on a knife edge all the way through. Fantastic!

Blizkeig Commander IV - Hasty Assault

Mark and Stephen took my British at 1750 points, with effectively the same lists as before, but with two turns of preprogrammed artillery and a turn of smoke to assault my 1100 points of Germans who were in dugouts and gunpits. I chose to defend the four hills near my baseline. I has three HMGs, three mortars, two command teams and six infantry platoons, with two PAK36s teams. PAK36s and mortars on the back hill, two infantry and an HMG on the front. Infantry and Mortars in the left hill as a flank guard British stalled, turn 1 they failed to reach the table, so it took them at least four turns to advance. Artillery had landed on the right-hand hill, and rear hill, but had failed to kill anything, even with two 8 gun batteries of 25lbers . My ambush was sprung out the thicket. British infantry advancing developed an unfortunate habit of getting hit by mortars and HMGs. The British in turn 6 cleared the central hill with armour, but needed to get at least three infantry stand...
