New terrain

Timecast 18th Century German church at Gueldengossa, near Leipzig, my spin on it.

It's been sitting on my desk, started and inked, for months. I just needed to do something of my own between other people's armies!

Bat's eye view

David had a spare 3d printed castle ruin which I bought off him. Useful strongpoint in many future games I feel.

Quck and easy paintjob, but it works

Bit of a fixer upper!

Upper floor is removable too

Adding to my 10mm terrain, comes some lovely Red Vector 10mm fences,
Okay, these are great! Thanks Leon.

German motorcylists for target practise scale

Right a bit...

Three Timecast North African shops in 10mm for my collection.

A few more 10mm buildings, to flesh out my Napoleonic Austrians and then to add a village to my desert terrain.

Firstly from Battlescale.

A chapel

A watermill, both small compared to Timecast, but useful non the less.

A market cross/village shrine

Moving further south, a desert dwelling

Now a few Timecast items.
A Timecast barrel vaulted house

A more humble dwelling

Even more humble

Higher status building

The village together

I needed something to restore my sanity after 200 Roman shield transfers and 60 tanks air recognition tansfers and squadron markings. So, after the Timecast Leipzig house, I ordered a few more, and Timecast being old friends, suggested a few additions.
The range can be found here: http://www.timecastmodels.co.uk/range_21/range_21.html

21/RU2 Traditional Russian wooden houses

Loving the dove cotes

21/LE3 large half-timbered house Leipzig house

21/LE6 barn, this is a big beast! The roof is separate, so that's why it looks like it's on a wonk!

The open  door really looks cool.

21/LE1 A slightly more battered Leipzig house

Yes, these are 10mm scale!

And a second 21/LE2 with barn annex

So, apart from the church, I have quite a decent settlement now.

A Timecast Leipzig House.
I believe this one was donated by Jarkko as he (sensibly) moved back to Finland, it's certainly been in the painting queue for the last 18 months!.

Four Timecast road junctions I've been ignoring for too long...

A few bits of terrain that have been sitting round during Lockdown that I have done in the last two days.

First up, a prototype Products For Wargames 28mm scale church, and this is a BEAST of a model, mdf and it fills an A3 board. This will be used for both Pikeman's Lament, and no doubt Last Days:Zombie Apocalypse, plus anything else 28mm from here to eternity.  Not sure when it will go into full production, but Chris has done an amazing job on the design.

The inside has three areas, a porch, the aisle and under the tower, it's a BIG area.

The other side of the aisle.

It even came with pews. One was missing an end, so I combined them for a family double pew. Either extra cover or something to stack against the doors!

The tower splits into three levels, each with their own hatch and ladder.

Which you can pull up! Anyone do a 28mm belfry?

Almost on the ground...

Church notices and gargoyles.

View inside the porch. Love the rose window.

My second set of terrain was some Timecast fields that I have had foryears, and never found the time for. Now time is unlimited... A work of moments to do, and will enhance any battlefield nicely, thanks Mark and Barrie! I love the effect these give, and the details like the footpath entrance in one corner of the big field.

Comments

  1. Nice job Will, the TimeCast fields are superb, I have their ponds on order and have high hopes for them. Norm.

Soldiers of Napoleon - French Imperial Guard vs Austrians - bad day to be a hussar.

Whilst down in Wiltshire for the Devizes comp, Nigel very kindly gifted me his 10mm Imperial Guard division from FOGN (Field of Glory Napoleonics), and although I had rebased the cavalry and generals (including painting some), the guard themselves were not finished. I scrabbled together a 900 Soldiers of Napoleon list (which turns out to be illegal, read the rules Will), and fielded it Vs Mark's undefeated Austrians. My army, including reserves, was twelve units and Mark could basically do that in two brigades! My list : Two brigades of two five Old Guard infantry, with two twelve pounders and full cassions. Guards Heavy cavalry brigade. Five Grenadiers a Chevel. Five Guards Dragoons. Three batteries of 8lber guns. Guards light cavalry brigade. Four Guards lancers, four Guards Chasseurs a Chevel. Three batteries of three 8lber guns. Mark had: An Avent Guard brigade with hussars, artillery, jagers and two infantry units, two dragoons with horse artillery as his cavalry brigade,An in...
