Last Days:Zombie Apocalyse - Rescue Mission - 4 player smash!

Scene: Student house, students laze around, bored. Various weaponry lies about too. Zombies still pawing at the hastily reinforced windows. Vyvyan sits on a beige (it may have been another colour once) sofa, watching the static on the screen.
Vyv: BORED!
Mike: I know Vyvyan, but until we sort out this zombie problem, I am pretty sure that not even Channel 4 will be on.
Rick: Oh, that's just great, this is the system oppressing the masses.
Neil: But you said television was drugging the masses and stupefying the people.
Mike: To be fair, it would only have been Tomorrow's World!
Vyvyan: And as we can see, there really is no tomorrow at the moment.
(Sound of gunshots in the distance)
Neil: Oh man, that sounds really heavy!
Mike: It also sounds like someone is muscling into our patch, TO ARMS! (To camera) I've always wanted to say that!

Almost immediately after the last game, Ruth needed to launch a rescue mission to recapture the incapacitated Goldman, he was being held by the 'evil' (for the purposes of this game) Matt right in the of the street just outside the filling station. Mark and I have been attracted by the sound of gunfire. I have returned to my original gang, the Young Ones, Motorhead and The Slayer pick up weapons, debauch from the house and head into action.

The board. Chris was meant to join us, but a work issue had sprung up. He had kindly lent me his buildings though (and Andy was still on holiday), we reset as close to the last game as was practicable.

Matt sets up his gang in the centre (two are held off table) Goldman is right in the centre of the table, and three cases of supplies lie around (oi, stop putting them on the roof)! A scattering of zombies also lurk around, looking greedily at Mat's characters!

Mine and Mark's gangs enter, as the zombies stagger about.
Mark takes his positions in the three buildings, three of his characters up on the second floor, with many high powered firearms, getting in close is not his plan.

The Black Widow had very sensibly joined Ruth's gang after the last encounter, she and Karl used the cover of a small patch of brier to approach the garage. Beyond them, Hans and other cronies also advance.

Orcs, really? Oh well. Matt's leader dives into a skip for cover, while his grunt with a SAW takes position guarding Goldman.

The Slayer goes in hard on nearest zombie, while Rick sneaks past.

Lemmy, trying to move around the buildings to deal with the threat of Mark, is downed by two hits from a sneaky Strike. Noooo

Matt, from the shelter of his skip, tries to take down an approaching zombie, and although his hits land, he cannot kill. Neil reaches a supply case.

Meanwhile, Matt's gunner opens up with his SAW against Ruth's gang. He wounds, but cannot kill!
 Feel the NOISE!
At this point, it looks like the others are TRYING to generate zombies.

Mike decided to try and take on the Professor, and misses!

Matt's gunner is silenced, permanently, from behind by high powered aimed shots from Mark.

The Slayer, on +5 close combat, and a 4+ to off zombies, well, typical!

*THWOK* Vyvyan swings too, and misses! Mark kindly points out, repeatedly, that I had failed to hit (again).

But guess who turned up to deal with Strike, yes, his old enemy, the Zombie Mime!

The others made all the noise, but I've got three zombies coming my way, not fair! We had summoned so many zombies my meagre supply of 8 ran out and I had to use my spare fighters instead!

Ruth has one zombie (The Ring) to deal with, thankfully, he stopped short. Karl and the Widow are ready to jump off into action too.

In the centre, Matt hides in his skip, as three zombies approach all that noise, including Willow. He also sends a grunt between the skip and dumpster to hold my guys off, but pulls him back to guard Goldman.

Matt's reserve, a sergeant, summoned by noise, sprints down the road to see what all the trouble is, which immediately puts him in Mark's sights.

Matt's leader had to leave his skip in an awful hurry! The zombie Ray had joined him in there, thankfully, he wasn't sticky!  His Sergent, after sprinting down the road, and shooting, is also picked off by both Mark and Ruth.

Over in my little corner, Philthy Phil has a zombie to deal with in close combat. Fast Eddy, after also summoning a zombie, breaks away. Finally The Slayer lives up to her name and off the zombie.

Phil takes down his zombie with ease.

While Strike cannot shift that Mime again. In fact, he started to take damage from it!

Oh we will never hear the end of this, Rick offs a zombie after Mike misses twice.

But too little, too late, Ruth and Mark finish off Matt, and Ruth liberates Goldman with all his limbs and digits intact, ready to fight again, and claims two of the three supply canisters. I got the other, but Neil was also taken down by Mark's sniping.

And what's in my supply case?
Climbing gear! Gah!
Good news is that both Neil and Lemmy are completely unharmed.
Matt was whipped out. Ruth and Mark did not lose anyone, and picked up many upgrades. Eek!
We ended here as Matt and Ruth had to get going, they both had early appointments.
Another fab game, we really like these rules. More soon!

Mike: So, what are we up to gents.
Neil: Well, we could use the rope as a washing line, it's about time we did some.
Vyv: No, not the laundrette!
Rick: Well, I for one, as the only zombie slayer here, would just like to point out...
*THWOCK*

Soldiers of Napoleon - Imperial Guard vs Austrians.

Mark and I met up for a game at Leighton Buzzard Wargames Club. My Imperial Guard vs his Austrians, but he had taken an earlier list (1806), whereas mine was back to 1811. This time saw the first fielding of my new Young Guard. My plan was to adance the guard through the two villages, one brigade had deployed forwards in the centre to accomplish this; then swing in from the left with the Gauard Heay Cavalry brigade. Unfortunately, Mark had other ideas! He had deployed with his cavalry brigade screening forwards. Then it all really went his way. Soldiers of Napoleon has three things you can do on each card, an amount of units that can move, a rally state and special events. Sometimes, the cards fall absolutely how you want them to, sometimes, they don't. Turn one and Mark had been dealt two sets of 'At the quick' special event cards, allowing a march and then a manouver (or vice versa) for three units. Exactly the amount of cavalry units in his brigade! Combined with a ...
