Mortiem et Gloriam Senguko Samurai vs Feudal German

A short, dirty report to go with a very short match!
Met up with Paul 'Dracostandard' Cummins at Battlefield Hobbies on Wednesday.
It didn't go well, for me!

Deployment, two straight lines, Just as Barker Intended!

My castle ended up in the centre, my bows decided to try and hold it, allies to the right, Fluffy and the spears to the left, and see the post-it, it's my inevitable ambush!

My allies first hand! Drat! This was not going to be a good night, unreliable ally, and a large portion of my fighting capability was dithering!

WOW! How quickly does Paul's army move! This is turn two and we are in contact. My powerbows missed, my samurai were in big trouble!

Ambush springs! Boing... Oh, and my allies got a red card on their next deal. Phew! But they are a turn behind in my plan to turn the flank. In the castle area, Paul launches into the area.

SMACK! Paul's line of axe weilding loonies slam into my spears.

Well, that went badly! Basically, whatever dice I threw, I missed, even when  I was up in the castle. Paul's army went through me like a chainsaw through butter! I did manage a flank charge on some of his average knight, but it came to nought, especially as my Samurai bows broke, as did another spear unit! 0-6

On 'ther flank, my cavalry moved up to goad Paul's knights into a charge (powerbow vs cavalry, yummy), while his skirmishers slowed my spears with crossbows.

This was a pretty average hand for the two of us! Except after this deal we noticed a pile of discarded cards that had been left out the deck, so we redealt.

Paul's were worse, mine were pants!!!

Meanwhile, the massacre continued as Paul brought back his axemen into the rear of my bows! Ouchies! I had a shot on a unit on teh flank, and I had killed his knights and two skirmishers. (4 - 6)

Collapse! Great game, done in 1.5 hours, including half an hour to set up! (4-15) Well deserved win to Paul with a great list.

Thankfully, I had a game on Thursday...

Blizkeig Commander IV - Hasty Assault

Mark and Stephen took my British at 1750 points, with effectively the same lists as before, but with two turns of preprogrammed artillery and a turn of smoke to assault my 1100 points of Germans who were in dugouts and gunpits. I chose to defend the four hills near my baseline. I has three HMGs, three mortars, two command teams and six infantry platoons, with two PAK36s teams. PAK36s and mortars on the back hill, two infantry and an HMG on the front. Infantry and Mortars in the left hill as a flank guard British stalled, turn 1 they failed to reach the table, so it took them at least four turns to advance. Artillery had landed on the right-hand hill, and rear hill, but had failed to kill anything, even with two 8 gun batteries of 25lbers . My ambush was sprung out the thicket. British infantry advancing developed an unfortunate habit of getting hit by mortars and HMGs. The British in turn 6 cleared the central hill with armour, but needed to get at least three infantry stand...
