Wooden Spoon for MeG at Attack, Devizes this weekend.

It's a chariot theme, can you tell? Hope I don't win it, again! Hope to see some of you there. I'll be using 10mm Saitic Undead in the MeG chariot themed competition.

Hammerin' Iron rematch - The Battle of ReachoutIllbethere.

David and I met up at Leighton Buzzard Wargames for another run out of Hammerin' Iron, Peter Pig 's awfully fun ACW riverine rules. We used the same fleets as last time, see the link to see them. The scenario was I (as Union) had to sink all but one of David's boats, he had to sink half of mine.  It took me until at least turn three before my any of my fleet arrived! A Miami class ship was positioned to stop the Confederates leaving the table. Next turn, while all bar one of David's fleet approached, my second ship, USS Planter, appeared. It only has front and rear guns, so position has to be careful! My two started picking on CSS Selma. A few turns later, and my boats arrived en masse! On the left, in the far distance, Miami (I) is fighting off CSS Tuscaloosa, but CSS Selma is surrounded by USS Planter, USS Miami (II), USS Sassacus, and the mighty, tiny USS Fuscia. They all proceeded to smash into the Confederate ship. To the left, you can just see USS Essex arriving ...

Warband: A scrap at the ford, Undead vs High Elves

Dave the Necromancer looked at the ford and beyond the river line. A light mist floated up from the banks. "So, we, the undead, are defending a water source?" "Looks like it, Dave." Bob the Necromancer answered, "All six of us who are alive do need that water." The mist curled round their feet as the two sullen necromancers looked on at the approaching High Elves, it was definitely getting thicker in patches, and forming shapes. "High Elves, quite a lot of them too." "Ve will crush zem," the mist condensed into the form of a tall, pale vampire lord. "GAH!" "SSHHHHIIII..." "WIll you STOP doing that boss!" Bob the Necromancer shook his head. Mort popped over for a game today (I had the day orft), he really enjoyed our last game and wanted another. This time he chose High Elves. The next army down the shelf was my Undead, so that was an easy choice made. My list: D6+1 Vampire Lord D...

Blood Bowl - Beastie Boys vs Copperfield Stealers. League match

"Good eeeeevening sports fans!" "Bob, after their pre-season friendly that allowed the Beasties Chaos Chosen team a two touchdown win, it will be interesting to see if the Copperfield Stealers Halfling horde have recovered from their light mauling by the Ogres." "Looks like both sets of fans are looking forwards with this, as 6000 have turned up to watch." "Good turn out for a minor league early in the season!" "Only one player out, the Halflings got lucky that week. Reports are it was a halfling that was accidently sat on by an ogre tripping over. Fifteen players is a weaker number for halfpints." "Not as lucky as the Beasties, by avoiding Nurgle rot versus that wiped out one of the skaven teams they were meant to be playing in round one, they have all come in healthy!" "Here comes the kick, and it's gone really, really short." "Straight from the off, the Stealers kick touches back, and the Chaos Choses B...

28mm rebasing of Ghaznavids, Almoravid/Almohads and added unit of Dailami for Mortem et Gloriam

Many, many years ago, on a stormy (or maybe frosty, probabaly just rainy) while playing WhAB up at Milton Keynes, a man walked into the club, plonking two or three old fashioned LARGE toolboxes on a table and declaring "I dodn't need these any more!" and walking out. One of our clubmates followed him out, and asked whether he wanted anything for them, he firmly declared no, and left. Never to be seen again! We divied out the boxes, and as we were building armies for the 'El Cid' suppliment, a quick roll-off on a d6 each, I got the last choice of an Arabic type army, which on further investigtion, turned out to be Ghaznavid. So, a quick order to Gripping Beast bought some Black Guard, generals/characters and standard bearers andmusicians. Then I rebased them for WhAB and used them for Almoravid/Almohads. Many moons later, I rebased them again for MeG is 28mm as we are practising the Magna varient (and if you read my last battle report, without much suc...
